It’s a vibrant, living destination where Acadie comes to life through unforgettable characters, live performances, festive gatherings, and a rich cultural program running from April to December.

Created from the imagination of Antonine Maillet, celebrated Acadian author and Prix Goncourt laureate, Le Pays de la Sagouine invites visitors into the heart of Acadian culture and joie de vivre. From traditional comfort foods like fricot and pets-de-soeur to theatre, music, Akadi Lumina, and the Acadictionnaire, every visit is an invitation to experience Acadie—past and present.

Since 2022, le Pays de la Sagouine has been undergoing a major repositioning, renewing its offerings while staying true to the spirit of the site and the legacy of Antonine Maillet. The immersive night walk Akadi Lumina is a cornerstone of this evolution.

Welcoming over 1.8 million visitors since opening in 1992, Le Pays de la Sagouine has become a must-see destination for Acadian cultural tourism. It is a place of pride, connection, and discovery—where traditions are kept alive and constantly reimagined.

A non-profit organization, Le Pays de la Sagouine employs more than 140 people and plays a vital role in the artistic and economic life of the Kent region.

Come experience Acadie—authentic, welcoming, and full of heart!
