Episode 8: « Let’s go and giv’er some gas! »
Oh, the Bouctouche Co-Op. The place where celery, porc ribs, gossipers and good-for-nothing gather. Behind the cereal rack near the cash, Josephine and I watched at large fellow take off his hat, scratch his bald head and approach Maryse, the cashier.
Joséphine, the only girl in her family of seven children, had learned rapidly to defend herself and to play spy. But today, we were putting these techniques at work for a serious cause. To avoid being detected, we had developed a special jargon throughout our adventures, but Joséphine had trouble sticking to it, since she already had a very direct way of speaking.
3 voices and a mic (3 voix, 1 micro) - This Summer’s Wonder
I had a big bowl of happy Tuesday night; I went to the premiere of 3 voix, 1 micro. I got to le Pays just in time too, rushing myself. I had in my heart, high hopes of being dazzled. I was in the mood for wanting to live something intense. Well! No worries there, I was served, and my heart was still turned upside down the next morning!
The concert is George Belliveau, Monique Poirier and Christian Kit Goguen singing their hearts out. They're accompanied on stage by François Émond, and as the other guy says, you know something's going to happen just by looking at 'em!
Marie-tête-de-violon, portée par la musique, navigue parmi les étoiles avec son violon Joseph en quête de nouveaux « party de cuisine ». Un beau matin, à l'aube, Joseph la tire avec force en direction du Pays de la Sagouine, où elle passe son temps à découvrir l'Île-aux-Puces, la joie de vivre de ses habitants et la musique de leurs rires francs.
